CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Group Practice Management Association will have its Spring Symposium  April 17-18 at the Marriott Hotel in Charleston, and its goal is to have every medical group practice manager attend, said Michael Sundall, the president of the association and HIMG Chief Executive Officer.

The West Virginia Group Practice Management Association is an organization of practice managers  that assists members in developing effective and efficient practices, thus enhancing the provision of quality health-care services within West Virginia, a press release from the group said.

Its goals are to: Promote professional growth, development and visibility of medical group managers; provide targeted educational opportunities; provide opportunities for members to share information of mutual interest; and to act as a liaison with other key organizations that affect health-care services.

With compliance concerns and continued changes in insurance reimbursement, the need for support becomes even greater, the release said.

Membership dues are $100 per year and are used for organizational expenses such as a quarterly newsletter and a state salary survey.

Any practice manager interested in attending the Spring Symposium should call (304) 528-4677 for registration and membership information.
