Medical Office Managers Rate Henry Schein’s MicroMD PM as the #1 Practice Management System

MicroMD PM, the practice management software from Henry Schein Medical Systems, received the highest rating for user satisfaction in the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM) survey of medical office managers and physician group practice administrators. MicroMD PM, a Windows-based, client/server practice management system used by medical groups across the country, achieved a satisfaction rating of 4.6 on a scale of 1 to 5.

PAHCOM (www.pahcom.com), a national association of health care office management professionals, surveyed 3,000 members and received a 30 percent response rate. Members were asked to evaluate their satisfaction with their current practice management software systems on a scale of 1 to 5: 1 = disappointed, 2 = somewhat disappointed, 3 = adequate, 4 = pleased, and 5 = very pleased. A numerical average was calculated for each software system in order to compare relative satisfaction ratings among the six systems most commonly used by respondents’ medical groups. Survey results, which also include findings on Internet and e-mail utilization and electronic medical record (EMR) adoption, were published in the November/December 2006 issue of Medical Office Management, the official bi-monthly publication of PAHCOM.
